Air mounts, made from low permeability rubber, offer the highest isolation efficiency, and are used in the most critical applications, such as hospitals, research laboratories, and music auditoriums. They are less versatile than spring or rubber mounts as they require access for periodic maintenance, but use comparatively less space. To achieve the same isolation efficiency as an air mount, a 250mm deflection spring would be required.
Embelton air mounts can be inflated to varying levels to achieve the required isolation efficiency, offering more flexibility than other types of mountings.
Selecting the correct air mounts
Refer to the Isolator Selection Guide to obtain the Theoretical Natural Frequency, then select the air mount required according to equipment load.
